We are reaching out to let customers that have services on media1-dfw know about an upcoming essential maintenance window during which will impact services for this server.  Our team will be upgrading all software on this server during this Maintenace window.

When: Tuesday August 12th, 2025 starting at 10:00 AM CST

What to expect during this time:

• There will be no access to media1-dfw services, including broadcast control panel
• Live streams will stop broadcasting
• AutoDJ and other services will stop

What you need to do:

• Make sure your audio files on AutoDJ are backed up somewhere safe, our team will backup these files and restore them but are not responsible for the content that is saved on your AutoDJ account.  This includes music, jingles, sweepers etc.
• Once the maintenance window has completed please re-connect your live streams and test both on your website, alexa and other players you use.  Our team will check these as well.
• Login to the new control panel and test things out and take a test drive.  (An email will be sent with a training video showcasing some of the new features)

Why are we doing this?

• The servers operating system has reached "EOL" End of life.  No longer supported and needs to be upgraded so the operating system can still receive patches and updates.
• The broadcasting control panel is "EOL" as well and no longer supported or getting updates.  We are upgrading to a more stable version unlocking new features.
• Better live streaming support with less buffering and or issues.
• Music processing now utilizes all CPU cores, significantly speeding up performance (e.g., ~4× faster on a 4-core CPU)
• Automatically retrieves track title and artist from the filename if MP3 tags are missing
• Added an option to trim silence at the beginning and end of tracks
• Updated volume normalization target to -14 LUFS (previously -18 LUFS), resulting in a slightly louder stream
• Added separate volume adjustment options for tracks and jingles.

Plus more features which we will layout once the upgrade is complete.

RESPONSE FROM DATACENTER PROVIDER: 

We are currently experiencing network connectivity loss to our US Data center.

Our system administrators are closely working with the data center technicians in order to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and to restore all services back to normal.

Current Software version - 3.23.4

An issue has been discovered with HTTPS streaming on media1 server.  All streams are not playing over HTTPS.  Cert invalid error is being displayed.

We are working hard to resolve this issue as soon as possible.  Our engineers are investigating and making needed updates to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

07/10/2023 - 8:47 PM - Amazon development responded - They are investigating further why utterances are not working.  Stations are still in the 72 hour window for updates.  All stations on this server have Icecast with SSL enabled, and we submitted the new stream URL to amazon

07/10/2023 - 9:41 PM - Everest cast responded they are looking into the issue of the media player not playing on the dashboard and also the shoutcast SSL issue. - we will update this feed once we receive a response.

07/11/2023 - 1:00 PM - Everest cast responded and resolved the SSL issue with shoutcast, and the player at the bottom of the dashboard.  Both are fully functional now.

07/11/2023 - 1:13 PM - Closing this case, services restored.  However we still are awaiting a response from Amazon Development team.  We will continue to monitor the Alexa devices for these stations.

Server host1.pulseradionetwork.com became unreachable after installation of cpanel/whm and other security modules and plugins.  A reboot was forced and then the server became un-responsive.  A ticket was opened up with our data center to further investigate the issue.
